While You
Are Here

There are miles of secluded beaches and a protected nature preserve, where you can shell, fish, swim, watch the dolphins and manatees at play or the antics of our fabulous waterbirds.

Eating In or Dining Out

Many of our guests enjoy eating in as well as out.  They like to breakfast on the deck adjacent to the kitchen  and/or cook up some of the fish they have caught right off our private dock. Whether you are driving or flying, getting  food to the island can be as simple as making a phone call or sending an email.  You can preorder food at one of our local supermarkets and pick it up on your way or have your groceries delivered right to the Pelican Brief.  Our restaurants include:

The Boathouse Restaurant at North Captiva Island Club

has the greatest tropical bar, reminiscent of Ernest Hemingway's haunts down the coast in the keys.

Mango Cafe & Grill

Great place for breakfast, a quick bite, or to pick up some supplies you may have forgotten.  The Pool/Marina Bar has fast, friendly service.  link

Barnacle’s Resort

a funky tropical bar/restaurant covered with dollar bills from end to end. Locals say it’s a great place for a quick lunch and serves great cocktails.

Over The Waterfront

is a small and quaint restaurant set out over the harbor.  Our guests love the great service and the food prepared by quirky Chef Dave.  Making reservations in advance is recommended.

Love to Fish

North Captiva Island fishing is terrific and is noted for its variety of fish— Snook, Tarpon, Grouper, Trout and Redfish to name a few.  And, if you have never tasted Snook, you are in for a heavenly experience.

We have a very talented woman known as the North Captiva Fishing Lady.  She is so popular, we recommend contacting her for reservations at the time of booking with us.  northcaptivafishinglady.com
